Green, Blue and Brown eyes and the Shadow that suits by Odel Grant-Kelly

LashesThe holiday season is fast approaching…lots of Christmas parties to get to whilst looking fabulous! This is the perfect time of year to up- date or experiment with your make up look….

Don’t make the mistake of matching your eye shadows to your eye colour shade exactly as this can make the eye look “muddy” or washed out.  If you really want to stand out, for all the right reasons, then use a make-up artists’ trick and make your “eyes pop” by selecting a shade that complements your eye colour instead of matching it. Complementary colours are any two colours opposite each other on the colour wheel.  If you want a more subtle look just glance to the left or right of your eye shade on the colour wheel and work from there.

Green eyed girls will see red… but we can play with this and look at colours that are red base like Purples, violets and pink and for a softer look gold’s  and neutrals  with a small pop of colour along the lash line try teals  or deep blue.

Blue eyed girls look to orange or yellow based colours …  browns, copper, greys, gold’s, rusty peaches and for softer looks go for neutrals  with a small pop of colour along the lash line try deep plum, orange or gold’s.

Brown eyed girls (look to the yellow-orange scale on the colour wheel) …to make your peepers pop use navy blues and greens remember to highlight any natural flecks of colour in those brown eyes (greens, or gold’s) and build these into your shadow selection.  For a softer look apply your natural shades as usual then apply a navy or blue shadow close to the lash line.
